Canada’s Saudi weapons sales a moral race to the bottom..

November 30, 2018

That sickening conundrum pretty much sums up the current status of the Canadian weapons industry and, specifically, London, Ontario’s General Dynamics Land Systems plant, which is providing $15 billion in killer weapons to the Saudi regime to repress women at home and mercilessly slaughter civilians in neighbouring Yemen. The company is seen as a good corporate citizen for donating to local charities and for helping hundreds keep food on the table. And besides, it’s Ottawa that made the call to proceed with the weapons deal.

Canada’s Liberal Government is Enabling Saudi Arabia War Crimes in Yemen

November 17, 2018

One has to admire the Canadian government’s manipulation of the media regarding its relationship with Saudi Arabia. Despite being partners with the Kingdom’s international crimes, the Liberals have managed to convince some gullible folks they are challenging Riyadh’s rights abuses.

‘Trudeau won’t stop $12bn of arms sales to Saudi after Khashoggi’s death because money always wins over murder’..

November 4, 2018

When Ottawa decided to sell its spanking new light armoured vehicles (LAVs) to the Saudi kingdom, the Saudis already had a well-earned reputation for chopping off heads and supporting raving and well-armed Islamists. But Mohammed bin Salman had not yet ascended the crown princedom of this pious state. The Saudis had not yet invaded Yemen, chopped off the heads of its Shia leaders, imprisoned its own princes, kidnapped the Lebanese prime minister and dismembered Khashoggi.

Saudi arms deal ‘not easy to break like a Treaty with First Nations’: Trudeau

October 24, 2018

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said getting out of a controversial arms deal with Saudi Arabia isn’t easy because it’s a ‘difficult contract.’

“Our hands are tied here,” Trudeau told reporters.

“This Saudi arms deal is not easy to break like a Treaty with First Nations.”

Trudeau also said it’s incredibly frustrating for the Liberal government and not unlike a recent situation where they were able to write off a multi-billion dollar loan to the auto industry yet can’t scrape up a few million to fix water problems in First Nations communities or provide equitable funding for FIrst Nations children.

How Justin Trudeau Should Respond to Saudi Arabia..

August 13, 2018

As every good poker player knows, sometimes the right move is to go all in.

Given his cards and the obvious over-the-top attempt by his opponent to scare him off a winning hand, Justin Trudeau’s next move should be to see Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s (aka MBS) diplomatic break and raise him a wide-ranging ethical challenge.

In response to Saudi Arabia suspending diplomatic ties, withdrawing medical students and selling off assets in Canada over an innocuous tweet, the Trudeau government should:
